About PERS

PERS GmbH was founded in December 2024 and is headquartered in Günselsdorf, Austria. The company is jointly managed by Andreas Spousta and Martin Ruzicka (a four-eyes principle) and develops large-scale battery storage projects that contribute to grid stability and the integration of renewable energy in Austria.

Portfolio

PERS is currently developing two large-scale battery storage projects in Austria. Each of the two projects has a grid connection capacity of 500 MW and a storage capacity of at least 1,000 MWh. Grid connection is confirmed for both projects, and the required land has been secured. Both projects are actively advancing through further development toward regulatory permitting.

Why Utility-Scale Battery Storage

High-voltage transmission towers at sunrise

Large-scale battery storage balances fluctuations between energy generation and consumption, stabilizes the power grid, and enables greater integration of wind and solar power. As renewable energy's share of Austria's electricity mix grows, this flexibility becomes a central building block of the energy transition.
